"As a member of the veterinary medical profession, I solemnly swear that I will use my scientific knowledge and skills for the benefit of society. I will strive to promote animal health and welfare, relieve animal suffering, protect the health of the public and environment, and advance comparative medical knowledge" Putting a healthy, friendly dog to sleep does not fall within the veterinarians' oath. Law should have been strong and strict enough & veterinary authorities on top of things so vet practices that act in a way that does not honour the oath, to be stripped off their practice licenses.

My experience at this vet practice has been poor, with the service having notably deteriorated under new ownership. Issues include: ignored emails; urgent test results delayed by a month without update; and failure to use correct contact details which resulted in important results and updates being repeatedly given to the wrong person. Staff were unable to answer simple questions about the treatment plan (e.g. is sedation required for the procedure?), instead I was told I needed to wait for the vet to write to me. After yet more waiting, I wrote to express concerns about the delays in getting answers to my questions and the vet eventually responded, albeit defensively and inaccurately. Rather incredulously, he wrote to me that a cause of his delayed response to my question about the advised procedures was because I had not yet brought my dog in for the advised procedures... This alone demonstrates a profound lack of insight into the consenting process. He also accused me of not answering calls (untrue) whilst failing to acknowledge or apologise for any of the mistakes and miscommunications of the practice. After the practice manager assured me I would receive a thorough response from the vet and that she would inform me in the event of any delay, I have still not heard anything for 3 months (!) now. Of course delays are sometimes unavoidable, but it is imperative that they are communicated to clients rather than leaving us in limbo, blaming us or making unsubstantiated accusations. Avoid this vet, particularly if you value empathy, professionalism and communication.

I don’t know how this place still wants to run I’ve sadly only just seen the true story about this place and how they treat animals with no heart or respect, all I done was look online for a good vets and managed to find lots of horrible things on these vets that have made me so sad, makes me wonder why they won’t publicly fight there case? They know they did wrong

They were so good to me and my Mum when we had to have our beloved Kitty put down. The aftercare was amazing! I can’t thank them enough. Love to all of you at Ashtonlee from the Hamilton family xx

Shame. Couldn’t even give zero stars. This vet has heartlessly put a healthy young dog down, with no previous behavioural issues. He even had rescues willing to take him. The owner clearly gave this vet money to do this, when no other vet would. Do I trust them with my animals in or out of treatment - absolutely NOT!!

I notice they don't defend themselves to bad reviews, only thank owners for good ones. Well, here's another bad one. There is no getting away from the fact they killed an otherwise healthy dog, despite NO other vet in the area being willing to do so AND with it having a rescuse space organised for it. I wouldn't trust them as looking at their reviews they're not partularly caring, another vet that's all about the £££ than the welfare of your pet.

Killing a healthy dog due to owners refusing to rehome. Shameful. Could have been refused in an effort to find the best outcome for the dog. Nothing was wrong with it. Money over compassion is that the kind of vet you want?

I would have given zero stars if it was possible as one star is one star too many! This vet heartlessly put to sleep a healthy young dog who had no previous behavioural issues and had been offered a rescue space and the vet knew this yet they still euthanized him! Clearly money means more to them than a healthy dogs life

Very poor service. Failed to tell me how sick my cat was, did not detect a tumour in her on health check up from a nurse in April, she said she was just old. By the time a large tumour was confirmed two months later it was too late and my cat died 6 weeks later. Vet lied about time when she wanted to see my cat again and despite me complaining to them about all this, I’ve been ignored and they don’t even bother to send out a Sympathy card out to me. Shocking shocking shocking!!
